Ian' XJS.

This is our club member's Ian.  He is from California, as you can see the distinctive twin headlights and the large bumpers of the American models.

The V12 engine is also slightly different from the UK version.

 Ian wrote to us:

My XJS was  originally purchased at Hollywood Sport Cars, June 1985. I am the second  owner and is a very clean car, with full service history and records.
It  had a substantial service at 90K, and has currently just turned 100K. The engine  runs extremely smoothly, with no oil leaks, knocks, bumps etc. Interior leather  (saville gray with original matching carpets) is very clean and supple ...  maintained well, with no  scratches,  rips or marks. (Except for a  fingernail size patch  where seatbelt  has rubbed against piping, behind driver's left shoulder ) Burl elm is high  gloss, with no hairline scratches or cracks. Vinyl dash in good condition. No  cracks or rips. Replaced radio cassette with CD player. Door & rear panels  clean &  in extremely good  condition, with no scratches or marks. Due to warm dry climate, bonnet lever,  brake pedal linkage, and other zinc / anodized / coated surfaces  are like brand new with no corrosion or  oxidation. Clean glove box with secure liner ... replaced head liner, replaced  rear window seal, replaced chrome double headlight surrounds. A/C converted due  to new Freon laws.  Very clean trunk  with original screw down battery clamp and plastic shroud, with pad under  battery. Original tool kit in excellent condition, with like new shiny jack and  tools. Fuel tank replaced in 1995 due to slight gasoline whiff, (which  continues.) Replaced original starfish alloys with lattice alloys off a 1992  convertible. Michelin tyres 235 / 60.  Have all records books and receipts, sale sticker, plus Jaguar meditation  cassette supplied with car. A very clean, original car, though paintwork on  bonnet, boot lid, top of roof slightly breaking up due to sun. (  ie, not as smooth as wings and side  panels).
